Pastor Tom Ebert, his wife Laura and several of their children felt the call to start a church plant in 2008. They started the long journey to raise support and to establish themselves in a community. In October of 2011 Pastor Tom & his family, along with a few other local families and individuals started what is now Shalom Baptist Church.

In 2020, after several years of praying and waiting the Lord blessed Shalom Baptist with a building to call their own. The church was originally a public library in Brown Deer,  Wisconsin. Now, this former community building has been rededicated, as another place for the community, a place to find peace, forgiveness, and salvation.
